Legacy trainers burn around 9.0 gallons of fuel per hour. The RV-12iS burns 3.7 to 4.0. That difference alone is a meaningful chunk of your total cost.
Moving lecture-style ground school to a self-paced online format means our in-person time is spent actually flying and briefing, not sitting through material you could review at home.
New England winters are real. Rather than losing training days entirely, our planned AATD (advanced aviation training device) keeps your timeline on track.
A lot of flight schools quote you a low number up front, then add fees later. Here’s what your $83,350 tuition covers, and what it doesn’t.
Additional flight or ground time beyond what’s built into your tuition is billed at $315 per hour. Retesting fees after an unsuccessful checkride are also extra. Housing and living costs are not included and are not provided by VNAV.
Your tuition is priced using an estimate of the flight and ground time most students actually need, about 60% more than the FAA’s bare minimum hours for each certificate. If you need more time than that, additional instruction is billed at $315 per hour.
We’re working on financing options with independent third-party providers and will share details with applicants before enrollment. VNAV Flight Labs is not a lender and does not guarantee approval or any specific payment terms.
Financing terms, if you choose to finance, will be provided by the financing provider and disclosed before you sign.
